Q: I have a blackberry, and I was wondering how I am charged to use the Blackberry messenger. Do you need internet? And how do they charge for the pin-to-pin messages? Are they counted like SMS messages?

A: Pin to Pin messages count like instant messages and texts, they are $.15cents per incoming/out messages. Yes you need a data plan to connect ...then the messaging plan..yes they are definilty counted as sms.

there's no point in a blackberry (I'll shorten it to BB for the rest of this answer) without data. You can do it - I mean, you can get any service your device and SIM card support - but its useless.
